Dear Parents and Carers,
Please be advised that our school photo day will take place on Wednesday 5th February, 2025. Instructions for ordering photos are contained in this week’s newsletter, and are also available on Compass.
In preparation for our school photo day and the beginning of 2025, we wanted to remind the community of our uniform and grooming policy. While our concerns seem only to be an issue with a small percentage of our student community, it is important that everyone is reminded of our expectations around uniform and grooming.
* All students are to be in full school uniform on each day of the week, except for Thursdays when sports uniform is worn to school.
* Extreme haircuts (in particular mullets, rats tails and burst fades) are not allowed. See images below.
* Boys are not permitted to wear bobby pins to tie up their hair.
* Long fake nails are not permitted.
* Long fake eyelashes are not permitted.
* Make up is not permitted.
Further information on our uniform and grooming policy can be found on the College website - https://www.goodsamaritan.nsw.edu.au/uniform-information
All students are constantly reminded of our expectations, and we make every possible effort to be consistent with each one of them. Your support of our uniform and grooming policy is much appreciated.
On the whole, students at Good Samaritan do a wonderful job of wearing our uniform with pride, and representing our school positively in the community. Through the support of all students, parents and carers, we can ensure this continues.
On behalf of each teacher at Good Samaritan, we wanted to personally thank each parent and carer in our community for your overwhelming support of us throughout 2024. You place a great amount of trust in each of us to teach, nurture, and support your sons and daughters every day, and we do not take that for granted. Thank you!
Merry Christmas, and may God bless each of you throughout the holiday period.
Kind regards,
Dominic Wilson Adrian Vannan

SUPPORT FOR CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE DURING THE HOLIDAYS
Holidays can take students away from friends and their usual school supports. This resource
from Headspace outlines a number of ways parents can support their child/young person’s
mental health and wellbeing in the holidays. The infographic below outlines mental health
services and support for quick reference.
