An Action-filled Day at the 2023 Athletics Carnival

The College recently had its annual Athletics Carnival. It was a great opportunity for students to show their athletic ability and challenge themselves by stepping outside their comfort zone.

Students (as well as teachers) dressed up in their Patron House colours to show support for their houses. The day began with students travelling by bus to Campbelltown Sports Stadium, where those who arrived early had just completed their 800m competitive race.

Going around in their age groups, students had the chance to participate in a variety of athletic events; such as discus, shotput, long jump, high jump, track races and novelty events, ‘tug of war’ and ‘tunnel ball’.

After finishing the 100m races, all the students gathered in the grandstand in house groups to commence the cheering competition. All houses cheered at the top of their lungs, and it was great to see the full enthusiasm of each house. In the end there could only be one winner, where La Salle took out the top spot.

Everyone tried their absolute best in all events, and several students qualified to compete against other schools, which is a fantastic achievement.

Congratulations to all students on an incredible Athletics Carnival!
