On the 25th February, a number of students from the Media Team represented Good Samaritan Catholic College at the FilmFest Launch from Sydney Catholic Schools' CASPA. FilmFest (formerly Battle of the Artz) is the new initiative by CASPA that is aimed at connecting a number of disciplines, such as Performing Arts and Digital Innovation to showcase the talents in our schools. The launch was held at Our Lady Of The Assumption in North Strathfield.
We presented our 2019 entry for the ‘Battle of the Arts’ competition which looked upon the theme; ‘Diversity’. CASPA asked us to talk about our different tips and techniques about how we filmed our winning entry.
We presented in one of the school’s open-space learning classrooms which incorporated a variety of seating areas that were comfortable and ergonomic. The school looked like a University College.. it was very modern, large and it reminded us of when the Media Team went to the Google Headquarters in Sydney last year.
There were numerous individuals who presented at the event, including a well known film producer and editor for Channel 7; Ryan Cauchi. He was extremely impressed with our editing and enlightened us with insight upon other several skills.
We are looking forward to forming a production team again to come up with a new film for this year's theme. The theme for 2020 is "Call for the Earth: Environmental Sustainability".
