Christmas for many of us is a time of happiness and gathering with our family and friends to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ. The sharing of meals, laughter and presents is a memorable time. However, for people experiencing poverty and disadvantage, Christmas can be challenging. Therefore, every year the Good Samaritan community have come together to create Christmas Hampers for people in need in our local community through the St. Vincent de Paul Christmas Hamper Appeal.
This year, an impressive 91 hampers were made by our 43 Year 7-11 Pastoral Care classes. It was a fantastic effort by all members of our community. We wish to thank the generosity of our students and their families during this time of giving.
"We brought in Muesli bars, tomato paste, and drinks," Natalie and Alissa, some of GSCC's students said today.
..."We wanted to give people an opportunity to have a wonderful Christmas as well. We want all families to experience a good Christmas too."
