And so it began. ACYF day 1 began with an early rise for GSCC with a 7am start to board the buses to Sydney Olympic park.
Once we arrived we headed straight into the Qudos Bank Arena for the morning plenary. We were firstly entertained by the amazing musical talents of Fr Rob Galea and Matt Maher. Then Archbishop of Sydney Anthony Fisher gave a moving testimony for what the 3 days had in store for us all.
We then journeyed into Sydney Olympic park to begin part taking in a numerous range of activities for several hours. Some had the opportunity to be entertained once again by Fr Rob Galea and many other musicians, participate in mass, stroll around the domain looking at many of the stands such as St Vincent De Paul society, Caritas and different dioceses and universities and listen to talks about the enduring questions of being a young Catholic in the world today.
After participating in many activities and being entertained with our small groups throughout the day, we headed into the Qudos Bank Arena for the afternoon plenary.
This would lead us to the end of the night. After a very long day of praise and worship for our love for God, our minds and feet were finally rested when we arrived back to school that night. A successful day was had by all and we simply could not wait for day 2 of ACYF!!!
